Missing my mom and mil today:(

But to all you mom's out there HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.

There are a couple different ways to be a mom, I'm a mom to fur babies. :)
But I congratulate all you mom's that have children, grandchildren or adopted children. It is a tough job being a mom. Many times you need to put your foot down, be the strict parent, be the taxi, the teacher etc. But I'm sure no one would trade it for anything different.

An update

Just want to thank you all for your kind words and prayers. Most of you know my niece Holly was killed last summer. We now have learned the asshole has plead guilty and we will not have a trial. I thank God for this because now we can put this behind us, and keep Holly in our daily thoughts and help her children live their lives to the fullest. Holly may be gone but she will never be forgotten.

Miss and love you Holly!

Good Easter Sunday/Easter Memories

Happy Easter to all, I hope you enjoy the day with family and friends.

I have an Easter Memory, Every Easter Sunday was always spent at our house with family members. Mom always took us shopping for a new dress, patten leather shoes and an Easter bonnet with those darn elastics that went around your chin to hold that bonnet on.
Lunch/Dinner has always been kielbasa, ham, boiled eggs, cottage cheese (for me :))
potato's, yummy breads and mom always bought butter in a shape of a lamb. It was so cute. Most of the family made and ate the Polish Easter Soup called Borscht.

It was always made in a huge pot, to this day I do not know why but I never had it. I guess I never liked the looks of it. But Jayne made some yesterday (she had to take some to my brother's) and today that is what is on the menu. So here is a photo, hummm what do you think? Have you ever ate Borscht?

Lucky, getting old and weather

It has been sad in our household for a couple of weeks. Our Lucky went to see Barq's and Kasha in doggie heaven. His poor heart gave out, he had conjestive heart failure and so we rushed him to the emergency clinic and there was nothing they could do. The nice doctor told us if we took him home, he would pass at any time and he possibly could drown from his own fluids. His lungs were also filling. So we left him there. But he has been creamated just like Barqs and Kasha.

I know it has not been that long but we have never not had a pet in the house for many many years and I feel guilty but I'm already looking for a new companion. I know there are lots of doggies that need a home.

I'm old or getting old!! This past week we closed one of our locations due to the plaza is crappy, bad neighborhood, lots of crime and declining economy. It was for the best.
But this old lady here had to tear down all the shelving. Our stores have a ton of product and it all had to be transferred to other locations. Okay that meant packing of 400 boxes and moving them. We have at least 400 shelves and plus the units that I tore down.
Now if you were to see my arms, hands, and legs you would think someone beat me up. LOL

All I can say is I'm glad it is over with. We have one month to vacant the building, but I had all my managers help pack the product and toss out the shelves after it was torn down and we did it in 3 days. Kuddos to my managers.

Now WTH is going on with our weather, today it is nice and sunny, still a little chilly in the 40's. BUT Sunday night that S crap is coming our way and we are to receive up to 6 inches. The weather men are usually wrong and I hope they are this time also. Come to think of it, a weather man can always lie to us and always be wrong and they don't get fired for it!

Well since I'm just babbling and I'm really not posting anything useful I guess I'll go take the clothes out of the dryer and add some more.

I'm jealous

Okay most people will not admit they are jealous, but I will and I will also not be jealous anymore about this. LOL

Jeanne B makes me jealous. There I said it and she has no idea I feel this way. hehe
But I read her comments on Jayne's blog and the light bulb went off. Jeanne's blog is so cool and she puts tons of pictures on them and they are always beautiful. Okay I call myself a scrapbooker and a photographer. Well where the heck are my photos on my blog, why is my little awesome camera not with me more often. Time for a change!!

Jayne and I went to the gourmet markets and I should have had my camera. But believe me next time I will so my blog can have cool, pretty and yummy photos like that Jeanne chick. LOL And Joni I will shoot you an email, when your here you need to go. Its only maybe 45 mins or so from you.

Okay done venting....:) I could go on but then I would have to vent about work and you all don't want to hear about my 60 employees! UGH Most are pretty good but there is always those ones.

Well today I'm off and have a list a mile long so toodles.

Spring has Sprung!!

I love Spring, this year it seemed winter has been drawn out way to long. We just kept getting dumped on with snow. But this morning spring has sprung and it makes me happy! Can not wait until we can cut the lawn, I love the smell of fresh cut grass, getting my hands in some dirt and smelling the flowers that are about to be planted.
Soon I can ride my bike, take longer walks and open the windows!

I thought it was time for some grownups on my blog, normally I post baby or kid photos.

Many of you know my brother Tom is a Tax Accountant and of course this time of the year he is swamped. He is having a hard time because many customers have been coming to him for years, and they all knew Holly and we know that they mean well by their condolences but it is hard to hear all day long. So this year he is still working but not as much.

Stepping up to the plate and doing many of the returns are Brandy and Tommy. They sure are earning their paycheck. Working six days a week from the wee hours of the morning until late in the evening. And yes they have or still are going to college.
And Brandy is going crazy with having 3 daughters. If she is not working she is at doctor appointments, helping with school work, changing diapers, helping with Maddie and the boys. Whew I just got tired thinking of all she does. Thank goodness she has he hubby Jason helping her out. (sorry Jason I have no photos of you on my computer) but your day will come.

And as you can see those that work together still play (skate) together. I can say that most brothers and sisters tend to hang out with their own friends but these three were together almost every single day and were (are) the best of friends.


And do any of you have family members that you still call them by the names you used growing up?? I still call my 50 something brother Tommy he has always been Tommy to me not Tom and yes I think my nephew rather be called Tom but even tho he is 23 he is still also Tommy to me.....sorry guys :)

I have been thinking and wondering how can I accomplish more in one day. Do you ever start the morning with your list and by mid day you are not nearly complete. Then you have to start dinner and the day is almost over.

I had thought, if I was not me, which of the following would I choose to be?

I dream of Jeannie....would be nice but then I could never pull off her outfit.

Bewitched would be kind of fun but being married to Darrin YUK he creeps me out

Wonder Woman another outfit not for me but she was pretty cool.

Invisible Woman would be nice to be able to be hidden.

Bat girl only if I could live in the bat cave

Cat Woman she was pretty cool

Spider woman I could live a comic book life.

Agent 99 she was pretty but kind of boring

Carol Brady nope cause that is my life now, minus the kids, always on the go

I Think I'm leaning towards Bewitched, I could always zap Darrin. And I have never been blonde. LOL

I can say I'm darn tired of snow, I want spring.

Reasons for spring to be here:

-more sunny days
-keep the windows open
-get to wear shorts
-less laundry to do
-sandals can be worn
-ride with my car window open
-the smell of fresh cut grass
-picking out flowers to plant

ahhhhhhh now tyoing this make me more anxious.

Hummmm why didn't I think of that?

Seems like everyone comes up with all these ideas that you say why didn't I think of that? At work we sell a ton of the smooth away, ped egg, strap ez, pedi paws. All those as seen on tv items really seem to sell. I need an idea so I can make some money.

Dh and I went to the Frankenmuth snowfest, it was a nice sunny but very cold day.

The circus is in town

And we just were clowning around. I'm not a big fan of the animals at the circus, since I'm such an animal lover I feel bad for the dogs, elephants and the tigers.

But I do think the clowns are cute, at least all the kids loved the show and it was worth the ticket. They actually got to ride an elephant, but I was too slow with my video camera. Jayne got the best shot she could. I turned and handed them the tickets and next thing I knew they were on the elephant. Can I say to slow Joe....ggrrr

If you don't see me for a few days......

It is because I'm busy reading my new Janet book, I hope it is a good one and I will post a review when I'm done. But I'm a slow reader so be patient. LOL

It is darn cold out and it is getting colder this week, along with more snow:(
They say it will be 3 to 5 degrees with a bad chilly wind chill. It makes me cold just thinking about it. But I did bring in lots of firewood, I love having a fire going all weekend.

Monday 1-12 is a day everyone should call their mom, sister, niece, nephew or any family member you choose. Just say Hello and see how their day is going.

It is a sad day for us, my favorite Aunt Katherine passed away 20 yrs ago, my mom 10 yrs ago and today would have been Holly's 30th birthday. Holly loved her grandma so much that when my mom died on her birthday she know longer wanted to celebrate her birthdays. So today we will not celebrate but I will be calling some loved ones, and thinking of those that are no longer down here with us.

On a happy note......most of my stores are making their sales this month. Knock on some wood!!! Hope it continues to the end of the month.
